Must pay LSU 50% of the amount remaining on his contract or roughly $1.4M.

Contract says this for any SEC team or any D1 team within 500 miles of BTR (Austin is 441 away).

He ain't going anywhere. Loves his returning players and Texas was near the bottom on D in Big 12.

King is probably salivating at the thought of LSU getting paid that buyout

I think he stays because he has aspirations to be a NFL DC, he can get to the NFL quicker by staying here for another 2-3 years. If he goes to Texas it'll be another year or 2 before he starts putting up numbers like he did this year.

Texas could pay that buyout from the money they saved in hiring Herman after their "bidding war" with Alleva.

Texas would absolutely pay this

shite Alleva saved them at least $1.4M per year by acting like a teenage girl and refusing to get into a bidding war for Herman

I just don't see why a DC would go from lsu to Texas. It isn't the 90s

Herman wasn't coming here with Texas job open.

The quicker we accept this, the better.

Surprised he hasn't called them yet and offered to "sell" him for $1 Million even

He wouldn't have a great defense in the big 12 anytime soon. That defense is HORRIBLE. He took over a loaded defense at LSU with a ball control running team that usually owns the clock. I wouldn't be surprised if NFL teams came after him this year. But I think he will be here another year or two.

In how long? He may have great defenses after he gets the talent. Who would risk that when they have a foundation like Aranda has here?

I thought it was pretty much confirmed that Aranda was staying? I don't see why he would want to go to Texas where he has to start completely over and teach a whole new scheme when he just got done doing that. And he has way more talent to work with here.

Got his new contract today and is out recruiting apparently. I am more worried about NFL than Texas at this point.

I keep seeing people say this but how do we know that he wouldn't have come? We won't know because Alleva didn't do his job. He lied to us and instead of giving us a Ferrari that he promised he shite in a bag and tried to pass that off.

I will not accept this because Alleva failed to do his job and this is becoming a recurring habit. He needs to be fired and we do not need to take this quietly.
