Just saw it scroll. That's retarded.

FIFY.

Dumb move by a dumb organization. As a Raider fan, prior to this year, I would have KILLED for the organization to get a coach of Lovie Smith's caliber in Oakland.

The Bucs have made a lot of dumb decisions since they fired Jon Gruden. He was, admittedly, over-hyped, but it's been a myriad of bad calls since then.

Another top 10 offense, and Ryan was there for what 3, maybe 4 years before he arrived.
Ryan was still young when Dirk showed up.

Now, he's turned the Bucs into a top 10 offense. This was the best offense in the team's history.

The team needs continuity on offense more than anything. That's why this move makes sense.

Koetter is more valuable to the franchise than Lovie. It's pretty simple, and people who can't recognize this are simply ill-informed.

I'm not married to the idea of Koetter getting the job. I just didn't like Lovie all that much and don't mind that he got fired.

Another post blasting the move, that is completely void of logic.

It's funny seeing the praise for Lovie

Are we crazy for thinking the Bucs' roster is way too talented to win at the clip that they were with Lovie?

Dude has a .506 career winning percentage. He has had more seasons below .500 than above. He won 3 playoff games in 11 seasons. He is 8-24 with the Bucs.

I don't understand the shock here.

I think its crazy to make the move for Koetter. I don't think he's so valuable you shite your pants at the notion of him leaving.

Or think Koetter is mediocre and know a lot more about him than what he did with the Bucs....

But hey yeah, you are probably right, we are all just ignorant.

I don't feel like the Bucs have that good of a roster, and I think under normal circumstances, he keeps his job.

Koetter just means more to the franchise. People here don't recognize it, because they aren't as familiar with the organization.

Keeping the coach in charge of the 9th ranked offense over the coach in charge of the 30th ranked defense=\= shitting your pants

I'm not going to pretend that I'm up-to-date on all things Bucs football.

Lovie Smith was consistently successful in Chicago. I think, given another year with a 2nd year Winston, he would have succeeded in Tampa.

You can't argue the last 3 hires in Tampa have been duds. I'm a Rutgers fan, so I wasn't surprised by Schiano being awful.

You mean producing two other top 10 offenses?

Of course, those offenses mean little compared to the job he did in year one with Jameis, two rookie olineman and an injury riddled receiving corps.

So, go ahead and throw out his past, and let's just focus on 2015.

What did Lovie do to prove that he is as valuable to this team than keeping Jameis and Koetter together?

What did he do? He made the SB with Rex...only a decade ago!

Jameis' success is much more dependent upon keeping Koetter than Smith.

And Jameis is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

He was exact opposite of that.

Playoffs: missed, made, made, missed, missed, missed, made, missed, missed.

No, let's not. That's what you are doing and specifically what is wrong. Knowing "the Bucs" is completely irrelevant. Nobody is saying that Lovie Smith is the answer to anything, they are saying Koetter isn't that valuable, which he isn't.

If you want to bring up a top ten offense, you also have to point out he had the last, as in Dead fricking Last, offense in 2011. He averaged 15th to 16th with the Jags. Definition of mediocre.

I wasn't doing that at all. I did it once to prove a point.

Bull fricking shite.

The vast majority here bashed the Lovie firing, without having a clue as to the motivation.

Valid points

But again...... Please explain to me what makes Lovie Smith more valuable than Dirk Koetter, given the current state of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

How about not dodging the question this time.

I haven't dodged anything. I'm saying both are expendable. Koetter is mediocre and no answer
