Look it doesn't matter what Briles did or didn't do.

But I can guarantee if LSU hired him and went on a championship run or needed the committee to pull for us, then ALL ESPN would talk about was rape stuff 24/7.

Well, to be fair, all they currently do is talk bad about our administration, and make fun of our head coach's speaking abilities. I think that was the reason they pushed Orgeron so hard, that way they could keep mocking us like they did with Les.

Yeah. So let's not let them add McRapey to that list of crap they have to bash us about. You know they'll use it against us.

Ok. Go hire David Brewerton from Zachary. He will be cheap and can run a spread offense.

I'd much rather have Briles has as OC than Kiffin.

And I believe Briles is a much better human being too. Kiffin has a graveyard of skeletons

How about some discussion about Briles ... what exactly did he do or not do? Are ppl saying he should never be allowed to coach again, for the rest of his life? I'm aware in general of what happened at Baylor. What specifically did Briles do, or not do, and, does that mean he should never coach again?

Thread #102 about this. Comments on both sides have been repeated over & over again. Houston would not even interview him.

he'll coach again, but there are still details coming out, i think he needs to wait couple of years, let everything come out and fade from memory

For head coach. Does that mean he can never coach again, as an asst. coach?

Bring the man in for an interview and do an extensive background search. Being as good of a coach as he is, you have to make sure he isn't hireable first.

Hell he may blow everyone away in his interview and convince the decision makers that it is no risk at all. May even have a binder. If he gets enough respected people to vouch for him and convinces them that the scandal is a truly uncharacteristic mistake he made while also showing remorse, then he could be a homerun.

I don't know the man and he may be a psycho but I would damn sure look into him just incase the facts about him were wrong. Too good of a coach to judge without knowing all of the facts first.

I really hadn't payed much attention to what went down at Baylor with Briles until his name started coming up on this board recently. The more I read about it, the more I believe Briles may gotten a raw deal from the Baylor admin.

For the one incident Briles knew of, the AD was already notified, Briles encouraged the girl to go to the police (but couldn't force her as she's an adult), and none of those players played again (though only one was still on campus at that time.)

If they had the goods on Briles, Briles likely doesn't sue the school for wrongful termination because he would've known they had the good on him during the termination process.

So what does Briles do? He sues them.

Does the school fight him and expose what they know? No. They settle by giving him a $20M payout-- which was most if not all of what he was owed on his contract.

Who sounds guilty in this... Briles or Baylor's admin? Baylor's admin from all I've seen.

I've noted a few people on here who bitch about the PR that Briles would bring. Most of these people seem very closed minded and lack objectivity. And they seem to be basing it mostly on the 60 minute piece that was made to draw ratings instead of looking at the facts. Would a few people get their panties in a wad? Sure. Most will get over it.

If you have something objective to bring to the table that would convince me I'm wrong that Briles was made the scapegoat there, feel free to educate me. Otherwise, the answer to your question...

... is no.

Briles is worth consideration whether you like it or not.
