LSU needs this one. LSU needs that one.
Get a blank check. Let them name their price.

SMH at a lot of you fans. Some of you want CEO, some of you don't. Nothing wrong with that. What a I do see as a problem is the small faction who want CEO to lose so he is dropped from consideration.

Shame on you fools.

There is only one coach you should break the bank for. The one who has proven they can consistently beat Alabama and the rest of the SEC. Any names?

Didn't think so.

Next best thing, get behind this team and CEO and hope they go the rest of the way without a loss.

Some of you say Wait then he will get the job, worst hire ever.

Maybe Maybe not. Who knows.

One thing for sure, it gives LSU an option and a stronger position to bargain from.

There are only a couple coaches worth 5+ million.
Jimbo is not one of them, neither is Herman. Not yet anyway.

When making a hire, you attempt to get the most qualified person for the job. Orgeron is not the most qualified person for the job.

The market dictates value, not some anonymous message board poster.

It's a bit of a red flag, you could say.

For all of you.

Would you prefer negotiating from a position of strength or weakness.

As long as LSU is willing to spend more than the other guy they will always be in a position of strength

I don't think you understand the market will determine the value. If LSU, Texas, Oregon, USC and maybe 1-2 others are looking at the same pool of candidates, the price for a top tier coach will climb even higher. With the money involved in college athletics, we haven't seen anything yet.

There was a time when no one knew Saban was worth $5m. The key is to be ahead of the competition.

Well, technically, Tom Herman helped beat 'bama by taking a 3rd string qb and making him able to beat bama. So there's that.

If they are not worth 5m, coach O is not worth $1m

i like how people are calling you dumb when you make a great point. lets support the coach we have. the same people that's ready to open up the check book for a coach that's not even done with his second year as an head coach.

Is it crazy though? Think objectively. O had the worse record of any SEC coach during that time period.

I think he probably has improved. But you are asking him to go from the scrap heat to the top of the mountain. Its just not realistic. He's probably somewhere in between, which is not good enough for LSU

lol you are right about that all jokes aside but kentucky had a better football program when he was at ole miss. at the end of the day it is a breath of fresh air that we are in the conversation of some of the top head coaches out there.
