Born and went to hs in Miami. College and coaching experience in Alabama. Those are some good recruiting ties.

Bama fans are saying they will promote him to DC. I have no idea if that is true. They were more excited about this than the HC hire.
That seems risky for a new coach to promote a position coach his first season there.

I'm not sold on TRob at all. I understand he's important to this transition to DeBoer. But, I think he's mid as a DC and I don't think he can challenge Surtain Sr and Cristobal for recruits in south Florida.

He was talked about being promoted before Saban retired. It was thought he was calling most of the defense already this year. Apparently Downs is very close with him.

A lot of people, myself included, have been calling for this. Even before Saban retired. Would complete the defensive staff puzzle.
