You think Saban let the AD know of his decision ahead of time? No way Bama got blindsided by this news. You have to think they had feelers out already.

No, I'm guessing Saban just told a reporter the news and hasn't mentioned it to his boss.

And, I'm guessing too that Alabama has never considered that their 72-year-old coach may some day retire.

Remember when Nick told Alleva that the Arkansas coach was his pick to replace him...

Part of me thinks Nick wouldn't mind seeing Alabama drop in status to bolster his own worth and legacy?

Lanning has it made at Oregon, I doubt DeBoer leaves the Pacific Northwest for the first time in his life to move to Tuscaloosa, Kiffin has his best shot at a Natty ever next year at Ole Miss, so Dabo, by process of elimination.

Dabo is also the coach I fear the least at Bama.
