although if it is about money Arkansas can pay more than Tenner. We are not paying anything for the coaches we let go.

I have said it before and i will say it again. Tenner is in the same position many homeowners got into back in the late 00's. They bought a house they could barely afford and are now spending all of their money paying the house payment and can't afford nice stuff to put in it.

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure the coaching hire will be paid for by booster money exclusively given for the hire. If that's the case, it's all up to the big Jim Haslam. Everbody else will tag along.

That being said, it doesn't mean UT will pay someone Belichick money.

And if Feldman doesn't do it for you, Chris Mortensen:

The Tennessee job would be the only collegiate job that I think could really get Jon Gruden's attention.

If GRUDEN is going to coach in college, it will be TENNESSEE!

yea no kidding who cares, I hope he goes to UT then they will have to pay 3 coaches a total of 20-30 million dollars while trying to pay another coach to win. LOL

it will take around a 60-70 million dollar buy out to get Gruden and that is on top of his 6+ million a year. I hope he goes to UT too and we get Gundy Patterson or Petersen.

You are not getting Petersen, the only job he could possibly take would be Oregon.

One of Gruden's stipulations will be a buyout in the minimum of 60-70 million -- like 10 years of his salary as well as taking his brother for a million and in a head coach in waiting position. His stipulations is one reason he always finds a way to stay on ESPN.

I do not think Jeff Long's number 1 choice is Gruden since even he stated his coach is currently employed and coaching football. So, knock yourself out Tennessee and pony up all the money you want.

I'm not convinced the Gruden stories have any legs. I think alot of the stories breaking today are from UT and UA fans hyping it.

If Gruden is interested in coaching in college, I would have to say Tenn would be the front-runner for his services.

I'm not sure they can afford him, but I think the will swing for the fences with this next hire. I don't think they can risk taking a chance on a rising star

Tennessee will certainly be able to afford Gruden. The important donors will make sure of that. The question to me is whether there's another job he wants.

I'm sure Haslam and the gang would gladly pitch in to pay Gruden. I don't think anyone a UT or the boosters are looking to set that kind of precedent.

The same can be said with the Gundy/Arkansas rumors. T. Boone may have a shite-ton of money but that does not nessasarly mean he is going to write that big check.

Is Tenner still paying buyouts for Fulmer and Pearl? It seems like I heard Dooley's was in the 5 million range.

has fulmer been paid off?
you are going to owe Dooley 5 million over the next couple of years,

that is a lot of pay off money and then you will have to finance a 60-70 million dollar buy out to get Gruden. If you assess risk and he does not work out, Rocky Top is bankrupt and will have to do some serious refinancing.
