What about Brian Kelly who I've seen mentioned as a replacement on here?

Herman is still an awesome coach, as is Fisher. They lose one game. Miles was losing 3 and 5 in his last several years

I give Herman a pass. It's not easy to coach a top 6 Houston team and try to put together your LSU staff under the radar at the same time.

Still not a coaching target. He's not leaving Stanford.

You mean not all of LSU's targets are undefeated?

This is not acceptable!

Herman has 2 and 3 star talent. If you can't see the difference there from these other coaches I can't help you.

You can go ahead and remove him from LSU's coaching targets.

quote:

With a job opening at LSU and potential vacancies at Texas and USC, the second-year head coach will have a lot of money thrown his way. And according to 247sports' Chris Hummer, Herman would choose between the Longhorns and Trojans if he decides to leave the Cougars.
"Texas, he will take that all day long ... unless USC comes calling," a source told 247Sports "Yes, Texas is the better job. But he's from California and so is his wife [Michelle]."

quote:

"Texas is his dream job," a source told 247sports. "He'd crush it there. That'd be the best thing ever for the University, for Austin. He loved his time as a GA there. I'm getting excited for him just thinking about it."
Herman has ties to the school after working as a graduate assistant under Mack Brown from 1999-2000. He also has built a strong recruiting resume in the state of Texas, reeling in the top recruiting class among non-Power-5 teams in 2016.

Based on this criteria the only good hire in the 21st Century was Urban Meyer to Florida. He's the only one i can think of that was undefeated when hired. He clearly should not have been hired by Ohio State however, since he was 8-5 his last year at Florida.

And why on God's green earth would Alabama hire a coach that had a losing record in the NFL and his last year in college at that time lost to Iowa, Auburn and got blasted by Georgia.

And why did LSU hire him after a 9-2 year at MSU. Hell, he lost a bowl game to Gerry DiNardo.

See how stupid it is to be over reactionary.

So, we want a coach that has never lost a game? Good luck.

LSU will have a chance to pitch and woo Herman but I'm not in the camp that thinks that we're the favorite to land him.

Oh, and coaches lose sometimes.
