Anyone know anything about Joe Moorhead, new OC at Penn State?

Seems to be very much in the Donovan/Franklin system, but a good play caller. I'm honestly underwhelmed by the hire, mostly because I believe Penn State is a traditional program and should run a traditional offense- but does anyone here know about Moorhead's successes and/or failures?

He used to coach New York's One True Team in the epic Patriot League.

I love that stanky, succulent, dripping, moist, throbbing drum and fife.

Here's as much of the story as we have at this point.

Depending on what the current roster has to fit his scheme, Moorhead's offense should take little time to implement. With Big Ten defenses being what they are, he should have success early at least. The big question will be if he can sustain his edge or if Big 10 defenses figure it out in Year Two. But it should be very interesting to see a spread team wearing black shoes...

Good luck.

He likes when girls use his last name in the form of a question.

That's pretty much my thoughts- he could be serviceable, but we're not going to be able compete long-term in the spread, the program's just not built to.

The most successful PSU offense in the last 20 years was called Spread HD, ran by Darryl Clark. I don't care what offense Penn State runs, so long as it is successful.

As to your question, there is a Youtube video along the lines of Joe Moorhead Scissors Concept, hope that'll give you an idea of his philosophies.

I predict Moorwins, because they'll be scoring Moorpoints on Moortouchdowns

Is this a Spread type system or just a more open Pro Style Passing system?

Blatantly stealing from a PSU fan much smarter than I: bscaff on BSD
Offensive Style

Spread or Manball: Spread

No Huddle or Painfully Slow: No huddle

Rush Scheme:Zone (inside and outside), with a QB as a running threat.

Pass Scheme:Coverage read.

Man Or Zone Pass Pro: Man (mostly)

Sorry for not researching more, like I said, bscaff is way smarter than I am. I'll just be happy with winning games.
