51 years old
Turned around that horrid Colorado program
Georgia Tech grad
He's in a position where keeping LSU staff members would be an upgrade over his current coaches

He also had something going at San Jose State before he left, with a 10-2 record and finishing in the top 25

He was 10-27 coming in to this season, still hasn't won more than 4 games. So slow your roll on him having turned it around. And he had a losing record overall at San Jose St.

That being said, he may be able to earn some consideration as a second tier option if he can finish the season out strong.

Macintyre is a damn good coach. He won at San Jose State and now has Colorado playing well. He has ties to Vandy.

No. he's got a senior heavy team. Much like Miss st did 2 yrs ago. They will not become a good team annually

I think he's a good coach that took over a mess of a program, but pump the brakes.

Why would you consider him as a possibility for LSU at this point? Because CU hung with Michigan for two and a half quarters?

The worst coaches I've seen brought up is this guy and Kyle Wittingham. They have done nothing that would suggest them getting a shot.

Would you have wanted David Bailiff of Rice because in his 2nd year, with the help of Tom Herman, he went 10-3? He turned around an awful program for one year, then Herman left, and after that the program went straight to crap again.

Looking at his resume, he seems like he would be a better fit to go back to his alma mater Georgia Tech if Paul Johnson is fired.

Yep. And we have learned that losing one game disqualifies a coach from head coaching consideration.

Coach O would be as good or better of a hire.

Do you know what it takes to get fired from a Program like San Jose State and Colorado? Do you not understand how poor the talent level is compared to their peers?

The fact that he had 1 winning season at San Jose State (10 wins is amazing) and is on pace this season while playing MIchigan and USC close is great.

Stop looking at overall record and look at what he is doing compared to his predecessor

Who's talking about him getting fired? At CU he's been 4-8, 2-10, 4-9. He's had a good season thus far this year, but that's subject to change. They have two more "should win" games on the schedule, if they win those and can win the rest of their home games, that'd be a 9-3 season.

Setting the bar real high by comparing him to Jon Embree. And it took MacIntyre 3+ seasons to match Embree's conference win total.

He got progressively better at San Jose St, and if he continues that trend at Colorado this year, great. Like I said, he hasn't turned the program around just yet, but if he can finish this year out as well as he's started, he could work his way into being a decent second tier option for LSU.

No one is saying it's easy to win at either place, but you're acting like he's doing the impossible.

Dick Tomey was his predecessor at SJSU and he won a bowl there when he was nearly 70 years old. CU obviously had a lengthy run of success until Gary Barnett was fired and the school willfully neglected the program during the Hawkins and Embree eras.

Not getting embarrassed might be progress, but it's hardly great.

He would be on the "C" tier of coaches they consider.

If LSU is that desperate they would be better off with staying put with O.

I don't get how joining the Pac-12 and having four 10-win seasons (including an undefeated Sugar Bowl team that crushed Bama) is accomplishing "nothing" to some on this board.
