Why? He's not sitting in his office making this decision alone. In fact, that would make the coaching search worse.

He's well liked by the BOS and isn't remotely as dumb as this board likes to believe.

Still this hire will determine his legacy at LSU.

He didn't have to let the media hang him out to dry by the media, but his legs were clearly cut from under him by FKing when he still wanted to make the move in November.

That would mess with the coaching change for sure. Candidates not knowing who the AD is adds unnecessary uncertainty into the process, negates some of the benefit of opening up the job in September.

Then JA should not have leaked to the media. Sure FKing cut his legs out... but that could have been done behind closed doors. JA got exactly what he deserved.

This is one of the reasons I don't think the search will be as easy as everyone on here thinks it will be.

I think having a long time to hire a coach is completely overrated. There is no evidence that having more time leads to a better hire. We have examples that go both ways.

I am thinking F. King will go before JA. F. King is on borrowed time and knows it. The stagecoach turns back into a pumpkin once a majority of the BOS is made up of Edwards' appointees.

Will politics get in the way of this coaching hire like it did with the firing of Les?
