If true he should leave.

Clearly he had someone, many position coaches would love the headjob at LSU

and what are teh odds that UT still has a better record than LSU in those 2 years?

Alleva is the only person in America who didn't know that Herman wanted Texas more than LSU.

Make him actually say no before you take your ball and go home, Alleva you fricking moron.

Alleva knew once Texas came calling it was over. You think Herman's agent was already in contact with Texas folks negotiating a deal already? Once Strong was gone it was over.

I am happy with what Alleva has done at LSU despite me hating his guts for what he did before he came here.

Everyone keeps blaming Alleva for stuff he had no control over. And now he didn't hire Herman so he will get pounded for that. LSU can't outbid Texas or probably Houston. But it is going to be all Alleva's fault that he didn't hire Herman for less money than he could get at two other universities.

O wasn't going anywhere this announcement did not have to be made at noon today. At least make Herman tell you no before pulling the offer.

Didn't have to "pull" his offer

At least try and see how it plays out

Any ways why only two choices ?

not believing this LSU spin

you make it seem like you went for the big fish and got him. Then he went back on his word so you picked the man of the people that was dying for this job.

Yeah its bullshite

No. he didn't.

But even assuming he did, publicizing that he did is incredibly stupid and undermines the very coach he just hired and is trying to sell the fan base on. Another reason Joe is a putz and simply needs to go.

It is

Alleva got his feelings hurt

It's a business and nothing is ever official but why pull the offer for O who can at least wait another week

WTF is this garbage? Les wanted the job up until and beyond the day that he got fired. There are numerous coaches that "want" the job.

The same fans that want O are the same ones that wanted Les to get another chance and we all know how that story ended.

This isn't arguing over getting your 2 year old to eat dinner. There is going to be give and take and outside forces that are constantly acting against the best interests of the program.

LSU needs an AD that can realize this and manipulate situations to put the school in the best position possible by using whatever leverage have. JA ain't it.
