I'd say all listed (thus far) are pretty underwhelming. Krags would be Crowton redux, imo.
There's a couple that would really excite me.
David Lee is a helluva coach and I think his stylings could actually mesh with Les VERY well. But I'm not sure if he'd come.
I really like DeBord too.

Mark Whipple should be very high on our list.

Adam Gase. Current WR coach for the Broncos. Has worked with Steve Mariucci, Mike Martz and Josh McDaniels. Was an assistant at LSU under Saban in 01 & 02. Has some experience coaching QBs. Probably not experienced enough, but he seems like someone ready to take on a bigger role.
Todd Monken is another name thats been thrown around.

Of the ones you mentioned, Lincoln would be my favorite by far (IF Miles allowed him control to run the offense as he saw fit).

Here are two you may want to consider:
1. Andy Ludwig - had a lousy year at Cal this season, but it's not clear how much of that offense Tedford still runs. Had great offenses at Oregon (replacing Tedford as OC) and at Utah post Urban. Was also OC at Fresno when they had Dilfer and/or Carr. No Miles connection that I know of, and may be a West Coast guy.
2. Craig Ver Steeg - offensive assistant under Cam Cameron at Baltimore, whom I think Miles has some relationship with. Has worked with Flacco his whole time there. Was OC at Rutgers from 02-05 (I think) when they had a nice little run with Ryan Hart, Mike Teel, Brian Leonard and Ray Rice. Was also QB coach at ILL under Ron Turner when they had Kurt Kittner, and OC at Utah when Alex Smith was a frosh. If there are any connections to Miles at all, could be a nice hire.

Noted, will add both a little later today.
Ludwig was one I was thinking of adding as well.

I guess the terrible year for Texas has eliminated mention of the BR home town boy who is the UT assistant head coach/running backs coach and former OC at Bama and Rice..........

good breakdown, but on what basis did you to decide to include these guys as candidates? In other words, of all the people you could have pulled out of the college coaching universe why did YOU choose these guys?

List is expanding, I'm not saying these are the only options by any means.
I'm just trying to survey names out there who fit two categories:
1) Could be looking for either career advancement or a job
2) Could be associated with Miles
Just trying to aggregate a list for people to reference if a rumored name comes up.

I'd add Todd Dodge , but I think he's all but locked up with a position spot at Texas.

Good list. Here are a few more names I like. My top 2 choices are Logan and Monken.
1) Steve Logan (good QB coach, rumors were going around that he was the front-runner if he replaced Crowton last year)
2) Todd Monken (IMO, the best position coach LSU has had in a long time. Miles trusts him. Was heavily involved in all of Miles successful offenses in the past. Was heavily, heavily involved in the success of the offense at the end of the 2006 season, he was basically running the offense. Miles should have promoted him instead of hiring Crowton.)
3) Mark Whipple (now available, good friends with Ruffin Rodrigue)
4) Steve Kragthorpe
5) Greg Knapp (Texans QB coach, has history of being an OC)
LINK
6) Dirk Koetter (Jaguars OC. With the whole staff possible out, maybe back to college)
LINK
7) Clint Conque (HC at UCA, local guy doing good)
LINK
8) Rob Chudzinski (Chargers TE/ASST HC)

I'd be happy with Monken or Whipple.
