Because that is what they do. They have always had money.
Last I saw, the Aggies gave him a raise from 700K/yr to 1 million. Yep, a million for Mazzone.
Another rumor is that they went $75 million over cost estimate on the stadium. I would assume they had to dip into some of that SWAGtastic profit texag7 brags about to pay for that.
Not good.
And a reason why they probably hesitate to choke up another $20 million to run off Sumlin.

Absolutely. Not saying this means he's for sure coming to A&M, but it's definitely better to be a P5 OC, if you are a good OC that'll stand out, than it is to be a HC at an invisible school like SWT.
Except most of the biggest coaches in the game have gone the route of non P5 head coach to get where they are now.
Meyer and Saban being a couple who showed their HC value at non P5 schools before stepping to bigger jobs.
Fuentes got his gig, Herman could have had a few this year.
Both routes have been taken...
If you are the man, and you are respected by men in the circle of coaching ,you will get your shot, either way.
