Boy Bama fans sure get on a defensive mode when saban's name comes up for other jobs. Bottom line is he ant gonna stay too much longer. That you can take to the bank. His work is done and will need another challange!!!

Honest question - if Bama loses to Georgia this weekend and drops down to a non BCS bowl, does that change your perception of Saban leaving? Just curious.

Not at all. It would mean that we were either in the BCSNCG or in a "play-in game" and one win away in 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012. That's 4 out of 5 years. No one would have a problem with Saban. No one would want him to leave.

I wonder how much of these people spend time, every day, thinking about Saban leaving Alabama and how the meltdown of the gumps would be. It must sexually arouse them.

YES!!

Bama plays Texas A&M in College Station next year, so I'm pretty sure he'll be there for that one.

He was there earlier this year also for a game.

Post less.

You idiots who think UT will pay more than UA can are setting yourself up for disappointment. Saban may leave UA sometime, but it won't be because UA couldn't match the offer.

I do find it amusing that an LSU fan with only 19 posts in 6 years is motivated to make post #20 in a Saban to Texas thread.

Saban is not going anywhere... Why should he... Texas could offer $12 million, but he is set at Bama.

If Texas offered that he'd ask bama to match. They wouldn't. He'd be in Austin by the end of the day

Incorrect. He's already the highest paid coach in ALL of college football. Bama already pays their coach more than Texas. Mal Moore could make three phone calls and get commitments to match any offer Texas would make. Any. Offer.

The entire argument is absurd because Texas isn't going to offer more than $6m/year. That's matched within a nanosecond and is only $500k more than he makes now.

I'm not saying he's going. In a hypothetical circumstance where Texas offers him 12 mil a season, he'd be gone unless bama matched. Bama would be too proud.

Texas wants a 10-15 year coach not a 4 to 6 year coach. I cant see Saban coaching well into his 70s.

Wife loves Tuscaloosa. Both Nick and Mrs. Saban are from coal mining country in West Virginia.
Maybe they prefer the small town atmosphere over big city???? They hated Miami.

Saban is going to retire long term in the south. owns a house a on Lake Burton GA. which is about 3-4 hours away from Tuscaloosa.

Texas would be dumb to offer $10+ million a year. but Bama would match any offer guranteed. Bama is rolling in the money, and just wait until the SEC Network $ comes online.

Texas has its pick of almost any coach and they would have to pay him in the 3 to 6 million range. Depending on where the new coach comes from.
