When you get turn down so often you take what you can get.

It should be disturbing to Les that he is having trouble filling the job.

If it's Haley, yes.

If it's someone else, no.

Either way, LSU will be fine, and 2 minutes after whoever is hired, it will become a great hire. Blessing in Disguise will probably be tossed around a bit.

You realize there are two separate factions of LSU fans?

I really think it has more to do with the fact that position coaches already signed extensions.

Imagine if they really have screwed this up

I really hope if they make a bad hire I don't have to listen to the pumpers tell us how great its going to be as we lose 7 games

I'll just wait and see. Good luck with that, though.

I think too we have to just be patient. I live in Jacksonville and my brother lives in ga and he is a huge dawg fan. He said they were heavy on Kurt Roper, but out of nowhere they hired Schottenheimer. We may have the same situation at LSU.

Blessing in disguise will be floated around??

Yes, this is true - for several good reasons, mainly to reflect an attitude of some continuity and stability for the team (and maybe minimize negative recruiting) versus hiring just anyone who may end up being harder to get rid of than those we have wanted to discard in the past. Since the "big name" hire is not likely to happen at this stage (and you can blame Chavis, Alleva, Miles, or the higher powers of LSU if you want), but the reality is that LSU will move forward.

From a perspective of having worked for big corporations and had numerous experiences with upper management changes in an organization, sometimes the internal hire is the best, even if only for a temporary period. Sometimes, the "guy the company really wants" ends up coming in a year or two later, and is much worse than the "interim" guy.

Haley may get the "interim" nod, or he may elect to bolt to TAM with Chavis - no one knows at this stage - my guess is that if he's offered the opportunity to stay at LSU, he will have many "experts" in his ear telling him to be more aggressive than his old boss was.......just my guess. Unless he's extremely stupid and stubborn, I would think he has the capacity to learn and grow just like others have in similar situations. If Orgeron is actually available to assist him on the recruiting trail and coaching as has been suggested, then this could be better than everyone expects.

It wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't already chosen Haley and is waiting for the smoke to clear to announce. Almost everyone else has made their hires and Les can't seem to lure even a decent DC to the so called elite LSU program. Sad state of affairs.
