That Miles intentionally interviews several candidates that he actually has no interest in hiring so that:
A. He can appear to be doing his due diligence before hiring the guy he wanted all along
B. He can help get some of these assistants pay raises to "spread the wealth".

Kirby Smart is not a serious candidate, he's just using this as an opportunity for a raise.
