Ideally, he would have waited until after NSD. He doesn't like recruiting 24/7/365, especially with young kids. I believe it's been known to Butch that Bajakian was looking at NFL opportunities.
His former colleague Lovie Smith called and said I have a spot for you and I'm not waiting 2 weeks to hold it for you.
Bajakian jumped on the opportunity. Timing sucks, but oh well.
