Scott Frost - Oregon OC
+150

Jim Tressel - Unemployed
+200

Dan Mullen - Mississippi State HC
+400

Jim McElwain - Colorado State HC
+500

Mark Richt - Georgia HC
+600

Personally I think Tressel is their target and Frost is their fall-back plan. In the end I'd be shocked if it's someone other than Frost.

Not sure the AD would bring in Tressel I think he needs excitement...but Big 10 is Big 10.

Tressel is exactly the type of slam-dunk hire that they need. A national championship-winning coach and legit recruiter. He's #2 of my top choices, after Richt.

Tressel is currently the president of Youngstown State University

Doesn't his show cause run until December 2016?

quote:

A show-cause order essentially means that any NCAA penalties imposed on an individual coach will stick with him for a designated period of time and could be transferred to another school that hires the coach before the order expires.

If a school wants to avoid the NCAA penalties imposed on that particular coach, it can appear before the Committee on Infractions and "show cause" as to why it shouldn't be penalized for hiring that coach and how it planned on monitoring him moving forward. That school would also face harsher penalties if the coach were to break NCAA rules again.

This isn't the year to be coach shopping behind Michigan and Florida. Nebraska will get the guy passed over by UM and UF. The coaching tree was picked pretty clean last year.

Yes, it does. He wouldn't be able to coach the first 5 games of the season, nor the bowl game. Some Nebraska fans (including myself) think it's worth it. FWIW, Tressel's agent says that he has not been contacted.

Meh, Nebraska isn't even looking at the same guys as they are. If they land Tressel, I'd consider it to be the best hire of the three, unless Michigan can somehow lure Harbaugh.
