I believe you will hear later tonight news on Mike Gundy. At this point I think he leaves. Word starting to make the rounds that he's likely gone.

OSU could match offer, but he's not happy with them and honestly I don't think they are overly happy to match any offer either.

I think Arky has been where he wanted to go for a while. Seems like Arky has been talking to his agent forever. I think they've delayed offering while looking at another possible candidate or two (huge fish). That delay allowed Tennessee to enter the picture.

At this point I would say it is 1) Arky, 2) UT, and 3) OSU.

I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time, but as some Arky posters may know, I pointed out weeks ago to watch for Gundy to Arky. If it doesn't happen it wont be because he didn't have interest. It will only be b/c either Arky found someone better or he got a better offer. They've been "courting" one another.

Gundy contacted Arkansas back in April about the job.

The rest about who has or hasn't been contacted about the job and offered (Miles, Franklin, Petersen, Patterson) is still up for debate as the most reliable sources still claim Gundy has been the #1 target the whole time.

When negotiations with OK State weren't going well?

They were already completed at that time.

They didn't go well. He wanted a 10 year deal, that is all he wanted. He ended up hiring an agent (Sexton) who promised he could get the deal done in a matter of two days (or some time line like that) this was in Dec/January, the contract was completed in March, saw him with 8 years, and taking a pay cut next season, this after the best season in program's history.

To add salt to the wound, their basketball coach received a 10 year deal.

Can you give me an example of previous predictions of yours that came true? Is there any reason I should believe you?

He predicted the rise and fall of the Mayan civilization. Pretty legit if you ask me.

Sure thing. Go look somewhere in the mid 30 page range in the Arky coaching thread when I said Gundy would be the name to watch. That was in late Sept/early Oct.

Go look at my post history when I said AU would fire Chiz a d the three names to watch be Fisher, Petrino, and Strong - all 3 people AU has spoken with.

Look back last year when I called Ellis Johnson to USM when they were still interviewing, or when I mentioned that Fedora wasn't going to get the A&M job but he'd get the UNC job.

Just as an aside, does Gundy have any issues with Miles? Would be interesting to see Gundy step into BP's shoes & start the hate going again. Has his staff members been with him for a good period, that is, would most make the move with him?

I'll take your word for it. I won't buy anything on Gundy or anyone else until I see him calling the Hogs, which is the funnest part of our searches.

I would ask LSU fans the same question?

All I know is Gundy was set to leave OSU to come to Arkansas and be Nutt's OC before Mile's hired him to be his OC as it was a condition to Mile's getting the HC job at OSU.

So I dunno if they have ill feeling towards one another.

I've read somewhere that Miles highly recommended Gundy for the HC job after he left...

Couldn't be that bad of a relationship.
