Just a curiosity question about the Michigan job

If it were to open, would Michigan be correct in going after Harbaugh? If he had success there, it would seem that the NFL would come after him on a yearly basis. My impression of Michigan would be that if this Rich Rod thing fails, they would look for someone who may be a longer termed than Harbaugh. Is a Harbaugh a legit NFL candidate?

There are ways to get around that, like a substantial buyout of JH if he leaves for the NFL. But I think they go a diff direction. Given what UM has paid coaches in the past JH could probably double his salary going to the NFL rather than UM. That's too much to pass up.
I think the top candidate for his services is SF. Carolina may be in the mix but I doubt it. I am giving the Dallas job to Garrett, but he could be a candidate there too if Garrett does not get it. Given recent events Denver may also be a landing place.
