What's funny about this is that the lsurb legitimately feels like they are recruiting for lsu and have the power to make or break a kids decision. I've never seen anything like it.

Why do you think such a thing is so out of the realm of possibility? It's not like these reports are coming out now….they were written the same week people saw her before these rumors started blowing up.

Not saying it means anything about Nick going to coach UT at all, but you blindly disregarding the fact that she could have been in Austin at all looking at houses, despite numerous reports months ago to the contrary, is dumb.

I patially agree...UT doesn't need to pay any current college coach (not named Saban) more than ~5.5m. If it does turn out to be Saban, the number will be at Bama's max (I'm guessing at ~8m) and they will have bought him with the extras. I'm hearing that the extras are up to $20m signing bonus, LHN, and oilwells. Who could blame someone for considering that much money.
The other scenario where they could end up going up to that salary (8-10m) is if they miss on Saban and are forced to go after a "big name" NFL coach. UT has now put themselves in a position where the fanbase won't accept anything less.

A couple things on this
#1 We know for a fact that recruits read that board
#2 Chicken confirmed that there have been Alabama fans who have created LSU alters to make LSU people look bad to recruits on the LSUrb.
So I can't really blame them for clamping down on what goes on there.

Hearing lots of details from 2 sources. One is a UT Alum and booster who has a kid on the select bball team that I coach. The second is from an executive at Exxon who is also a UT alum. We are working on a large deal with Exxon right now so we seem to talk about this on every con-call. He is getting his information directly from R Tillerson. I would imagine that some is true. BTW...I have no feelings about UT good or bad.
