Obviously its a D guy with a qb but there's gotta be some sorta relationship there.... Would this reason alone make Ash the best hire?

pretty sure he made your defense better in the one year he was there...Plus if Bielema has confidence in him, i prob would too...interesting candidate... Not saying i would hire him, but not saying i wouldnt either...

Did you miss the entire past two years? It was night and day improvement once Ash was let go and Smith came in. But pleae hire him. I beg LSU to do it.

Looks like Ash has done quite well moving along from Arkansas. Second year for Meyer to have he and Fickle as Co-Coordinators and they just shut down the mighty Oregon offense.

Arkansas was who I thought of when I heard his name on TV last night.

I'd rather have Luke Fickle. But he has to be OSU thru and thru to go from interim HC to a co-coordinator and still be at OSU.

Honestly, you can't judge a coach by just one stop. For as crappy as Arkansas was, Ash is now coaching a national championship defense. Would Meyer keep him around if he wasn't up to his standards?

It's not Ash, trust me. Somehow he took a really shitty Arkansas defense and made it worse. But go ahead and hire him to get you some Braxton...maybe you'll have a Chizik/Cam year.

not saying you are wrong, i dont know the guy at all...
But if this is true it tells me something, your defense improved under his watch...

Razorbacks' defense finishing 72nd nationally in passing yards allowed this year after ranking 113th in 2012

just saying, other than that I have no idea, But I dont think Urban Meyer and Bielema are in the business of hiring bad coaches either...

It could be mostly Fickell at Ohio state....personally i think its all Meyer...

You can't say that for sure. Meyer makes him a co-coordinator, which I still don't understand.

If Ash is "Arkansas terrible" then how does Fickell stick around after going from interim head coach to sharing a coordinator position with a coach running from a dumpster fire?

How does that work for Meyer and for Fickell if Ash is as bad as Arkansas thinks?

Again, I'd rather have Fickel but I wouldn't write off Ash just because of Arkansas.

Ash just needed a job. Not saying he won't do well, maybe he learned something. But he was pretty damn awful here and it wasn't due to talent.

I would not want a DC just because of one player who has injury concerns unless it was a legit DC
