If it is true that Coach Miles missed out on Coach Bob Shoop, Penn St., DC, should Miles have given in to Coach Clancy Pendergast? Former DC, John Chavis, did not recruit very hard compared to the other coaches on staff. Now does LSU go after Bill Clark or stay put?

This upcoming year will be crucial for Coach Miles but not limited to the following:

* The QB position has to improve in order for the Tigers to remain competitive for championships;

* The offense needs to be modernized and developed around the talent we have on the team;

* There needs to be more emphasis placed on the run defense and pass rush, both phases have been very weak for the past two years;

* The team needs to play with some urgency because they seem to have lost their edge from the Honey Badger years; and

* Regain the confidence of so many loyal Tigers fans by winning the SEC West Divsion and Title for starters. That would put LSU into the NCAA playoffs with one loss or none.

Although, Coach Miles has accomplished a lot at LSU as the most winninest coach in the school's history...we are living in a society that repeats one of Janet Jackson's popular song:

What have you done for me lately?

At the moment, Coach Miles could be on a two-year program with the Tigers if things do not improve soon, and the AD might be right behind him.

If CLM and Aleva were smart they would pick up the phone Call Clancy and ask the question

What do we need to do to get you at LSU?

It really is fricking embarrassing bro. He says no thank you to the LSU job along with $1.3 million or so a year because he rather not have a job or a salary and sit on his arse at home. It's fricking laughable at this point.

SC is still paying him, and he's been in a consulting role with various pro teams.

If the rumors were true about Pendergast wanting to bring his own coaches in, it's very possible/probable that LSU moved on (at least chose not to immediately offer) themselves. That's not a fit for LSU.

Shoop's D gave up 30 to BC in the bowl game

Why is it a disaster that we didn't get him again?

I get that everyone wants a slam dunk but it's gotta be a fit and the timing sucks to find the guy fast.

If that were our criteria, Chavis wouldn't of made it out of 2013.

We talking about a grown arse man that goes by "Clancy"? Sounds like an effimenent Southern man selling bibles door to door.He shouldn't be candidate unless he gets a nickname. Mad dog Pendergast sounds right.

I agree. Les is not showing his cards and everyone is just making up bs based on where he is traveling. None of these people have been in on the interviews or coach's meetings. The one thing that has been happening is that the players have started to announce their intentions of coming back for another year. I think that is a good indication that they believe in the program and trust that they will get a high quality DC.

I'm sorry but Lsu needs to make a big splash and Brick isn't the answer. The longer this goes the more it hurts the program. Especially recruiting.
