And this would help set up a believable Negan who can't drop the f bomb. They gotta make him look psycho without that part of his character and I feel like that will take some setting up.

I wonder if the time jump in the comics was partly to make it impossible for the show to overtake the comic storyline? Like the show can just take over from "All Out War."

In the comics he's just a preacher they run across while the cannibal story in the comics was playing out. That was a completely different story in the comics though. Literally the only common factor is that there were cannibals. The whole Terminus thing is unique.
His back story was only a little dialogue about how he's been hiding in his church and then he allows the group to stay in his church for a little while.
It looks like he's a more major character in the show than he is in the comics.

yeah I have no idea what they have stored for him...and the Beth side story is going to be cool to because it is completely original...unless they are taking some stuff from the games (i.e. Crawford)

I thought so too, but after some research online today I realized that guy was the same guy that had the tatoos on his face and huge beard that they freed from the box cart. he then told rick "we're the same" right before he was bitten and killed.
go back and watch the part you thought was Negan, dude had the same face tatoos.

I had to watch it 3 times. I could have swore the girl he chose said "no Negan." She said "not again." I was actually disappointed.
