Stuart Wood's "Stone Barrington" books

I love reading Stuart Wood's books. They are a fun quick read but there are two problems I have with the books.
All of his books are supposed to occur in the same universe and at current time. Yet every new character Stone Barrington is form Delano GA. (Wood's hometown). This includes the former President of the US, who is a personal friend of Stone's. It's like meeting someone from Plains GA or Hope AR and not mentioning Carter or Clinton.
My second problem is Barrington bangs every woman he meets almost a few minutes after he meets them. With all the sex he's getting how does he have the energy to solve mysteries?
Anyone else's thought on the books?

Those things are both true but not nearly as unbelievable as Herbie going from the dumbest character in any series ever to Stone 2.0

The dialogue in his books bothered me.
