Astoria by Peter Stark (Washington Irving has a version as well, but Stark's is better for a modern audience)
It's a great read for anyone even mildly tired of the laziness and entitelment prevalent in our modern culture. What some of these men/woman went through to forge a better life and establish the first American trading post on the pacific coast is truly inspiring. As was the scale of John Jacob Astor's aspirations.

The Frontiersmen by Allen W. Eckert
LINK
Really good book about settling Ohio and Kentucky area. Simon Kenton is the main focus of the book, but it also has interactions with Tecumseh, Daniel Boone, George Rogers Clark, to mention a few.
Historically accurate, but doesn't read like a textbook. Around 700 pages.
