I really don't see how they don't catch up. Especially if they're shooting for something around 7 seasons AND GRRM is now wanting a "couple more years" just for WoW.

I want to print that out and take it to every lit and English teacher I have ever had and tell them to go frick themselves.
Basically, saying they can catch up all they want, it's not going to change the ending of the written series. So David and Dan might be sitting at the end with their dicks in their hand.

HBO should take some time off for a Robert's Rebellion miniseries then.

That's exactly what I was thinking when reading that. Like I've been saying for a while now, there's a lot of details missing and at some point David and Dan will have to address it or there's going to be a big WTF moment at the end.

They could and should do a season or two of Robert's Rebellion. It would make sense and is needed.
Doing Dunk and Egg or the new novella would be dumb and unnecessary, but the Hodors would benefit from some information about Robert's Rebellion.
Plus it'd be awesome to see certain characters like Rhaegar/Arthur Dayne and certain scenes like Tower of Joy/Robert vs Rhaegar

Honestly, what they should do is film the final season and a season of Robert's Rebellion simultaneously. Air Robert's Rebellion before the final season as padding for the book.

Anybody feel like a dumbass after reading the books and then checking into any theories?
For example- in the books Melisandre keeps talking about when she looks in the flames all she sees is snow. So the whole time while reading that I'm thinking, "yea bitch winter IS coming so surely there will be tons of snow." Then I finished aDwD and I start reading up on theories and I see several mentioning Melisandre's "snow" visions and it's very obvious she means Jon SNOW. And all I can think is "well no shite dumbass"

Like Stone is given to all noble bastards born in the Vale, Rivers in the Riverlands, Sand in Dorne, Storm in the Stormlands.
I can't remember the names for the West or the Reach
