Just read Huxley's "The Doors of Perception" essay and was astonished with his vocabulary.
Are there any Huxley fans in here who can recommend a short list of his books, ideally ones that are not overly mystical.

Wasn't he on LSD when he wrote it?

The linked essay describes his experience of taking 400 mg of mescaline, the compound found in peyote (from a desert cactus). The effect had worn off by the time he penned the essay.

I've read doors of perception. Didn't really enjoy it at all.
Brave new world is a classic
The island is pretty good as well but similar in context and sci-fi to brave new world.
