Has anybody read this? It seems to be well reviewed. Does it hold up?

I started it, but didn't make it too far in. The initial story was great, but the next chapter started another story that probably connected later, but I was having issues getting into that story. It just may be a book I need to listen to.

I have not, but am on a Russia kick having just finished the short story The Overcoat and currently reading Gorky Park. I may add it to the list, although I feel I should get a few Russian classics under my belt first.
