Alabama head coach Nick Saban thinks his team may not the best in the country right now. On Wednesday, he said Florida State and his former assistant Jimbo Fisher may be more deserving of the No. 1 ranking...
quote:

"I think Jimbo has done a fantastic job," Saban said during his press conference. "You know, I always thought Jimbo was one of the best coaches we ever had. ... He did a fantastic job for us and I think he's done a fantastic job (at FSU).

"I think, probably, if you look at the whole body of work and the way they beat people they're arguably the best team in the country right now," Saban said. "And they weren't that when he went there. So they've made a significant amount of improvement.

"And he's done a very good job of recruiting and developing the players they have in the program. They've played really, really well and improved each year he's been there."
I'm sure Saban believes the Seminoles are a good team, but I'd chalk this up to him trying to motivate his Crimson Tide to take care of business these last few weeks of the season.

When they lose to FSU in championship game he doesn't want to look so bad because he said other team is better

He didn't say he thought FSU was the best, he said they are arguably the best. Meaning one could make an argument for or against.

Chicken, great point. However, even if Urban talked his way into the BCSNCG, he wouldn't be able to defeat Saban, this year at least. So would Saban be worried about a meeting with Urban in January?

OSU can't hang... they've proved it multiple times.

Saban's right. As long as famous Jameis is eligible to play football, at any rate.

I think Saban is just trying to stick it to Urban. Saban doesn't want Ohio State in the BCS title conversation because Saban doesn't want Urban to also win a title at two schools.
