If the NFL season doesn't kick off when it's supposed to, or it actually doesn't kick off at all, DirecTV "Sunday Ticket" owners will not be charged for missed games.

"If the NFL negotiations result in a shortened or canceled season, rest assured that DIRECTV has you covered," the satellite television provider said. "Your subscription to NFL SUNDAY TICKET is risk-free: You will not pay for any game that the NFL does not play."
I mean, I appreciate the note, but if they really, really, really wanted to lose fans during a lockout - charge them for games that don't exist.

But, what happens if they use replacement players? Sunday ticket is expensive enough, I wouldn't want to pay to see a bunch of nobodies suiting up in NFL jersey.

Now, if they can get the other 6000 channels I have to work I'll be happy.

What a generous act by DirecTV to not charge people for things that don't exist.

DirectTV had to put out this statement though, there are some people out there who were actually concerned about this.

Considering plenty of NFL teams are still collecting season ticket money for a full 16 game schedule, I'm not surprised some people are concerned about this.

My guess is that most season ticket holders don't give a rip what DirectTV does since they'll be at the game. Except for the real die-hard fans who will attend the local noon game and rush home to watch the 3pm. But they are a bunch of freaks anyway.
