First, the starting Mike Backer should be able to stand up our starting FB half of the time. Welter simply can't do that and the defense will be soft up the middle once again if he is not replaced. I love his dedication and all but it is what it is and we don't need to have such an unnecessary weakness when other players can do better. Wiscy will show us all that we need to know about the future of the MLB spot and Bama will exploit it much more effectively if we can't find a "Minter" like player to lock down that middle behind our already inexperienced DTs.

Secondly, in the first clip, I loved seeing the two QBs looking the other way before unloading to the receiver on their side. They need to practice it so that it will happen naturally in the games. LSU's ceiling with CCC at OC is limitless. This team will have the total package almost every year as long as Les has the Chief and Cam in BR.

I was expecting more from DJ from what everyone has been saying about how much he's improved and gotten stronger. I hope it shows up soon because I have a feeling he's going to be force-played anyway.

Your middle linebacker should be able to stop your running back head to head at the goal line. Welter is to small. This is not good. Weak up the middle against the run killed LSU last year.

I wouldn't call Magee small by any stretch of the imagination.

Well at least Welter was lined up in the right place....

Absolutely hilarious :rotflmao:

I couldn't have said it better.

Don't forget, he's on the Leadership Council, and he knows all of the defensive calls (which is totally unattainable for any other LB on the team). If we go into that Wisconsin game, with Welter in the middle, we are going to pay the price.

If we go in with Alexander-Beckwith/Jones- Louis......

Championshi (in the TJ Houshmazilly voice)!!

It's so nice to see our middle linebacker getting trucked by our smallest running back. :banghead:

yeah, fournette should've went straight, when he went to the corner they didn't make contact until they were near the cone already, you can tell V took a good shot when he made contact, but he just had enough leverage by the cone to put fournette around it

Geez people...he's a true freshman in his first couple of days of practice. I'm critical as they come but show a little common sense. Alot of these guys need improvement thats why they practice!
