The SEC's 25 Best Players: No. 7 Jordan Matthews

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN is ranking the Top 25 players in the SEC in 2013, and we will be featuring the Top 15 on the SEC Rant. Vanderbilt wide receiver Jordan Matthews came in at No. 7.

The ranking is based solely on performance during the 2013 season, and is based on how players performed in key games and clutch situations. Here is what ESPN had to say about Matthews:
quote:

The No. 7 player in our countdown is one who has rewritten some SEC records and was one of the best players at his position nationally. A Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, Matthews led the SEC in receptions (112) and receiving yards (1,477) in the 2014 season. That was good enough to earn him first-team All-SEC honors and numerous All-American honors.
