What's redeeming about Minnesota or Kansas or the like?

Kansas has nice people, Minnesota is politically stupid.

I find women in the South to be way more superficial and phony than they should be. I believe its the dumb debutant mentality.

Literally the worst state out of any on the mainland for bass fishing.

What?

Tell me you don’t know what the frick you’re talking about, without telling me..

Kevin Van Dam disagrees, winning the classic 10 minutes from the boat launch, half hour out of New Orleans…

years ago, when outside agitators tried to get the locals riled up for a race riot, they may have stood out there, but they wanted nothing to do with the trash that was paid to show up

This ^ I actually heard a guy who sounded like he was from N. BR, call in on C-Span and ask the protesters to stay off of I 10.

Also, when the terrorist supporters tried to raise a ruckus in NO a few weeks ago, the locals didn’t put up with it, they were cleaned out quickly. I’m sure that a good part of that is that LaToya wasn’t going to have them interfere with her only tax base-tourism. But I think that people are also more realistic about the world in which we live, and aren’t impressed by attention seekers or just plain hostile people.. Maybe that comes from having Mardi Gras every year.

We are also more tolerant of each other down here, both racially and religiously, and I think that Louisianians are really funny, and have an unique outlook on life.

Sometimes the water and wind from the storms pushes the garbage and litter around, forming some cool, random, geometric shapes, and patterns.

your wife and daughter fart in front of you? I think this very common place in Louisiana.

With all the grease from fried foods, the spice, the buttter, and the beer, if you didn't fart in Louisiana, you'd blow up.

The southern half has none other than Grand Isle and LSU football.

North Louisiana -

Great Gardening

Good golf courses that aren't packed

Great freshwater fishing

Decent Hunting

There are certainly some beautiful women in Louisiana but come on, man.....over one third of Louisiana residents are obese.

Food of course. I’ve done a lot of traveling and food is usually a focus. Without a doubt we are way up there food wise and the amount of people who care about food.

Music- would have never had appreciated jazz if I couldn’t drive 1 hr down the road and see some of the best in the world. We also get a fair amount of blues. We got our own thing with Cajun and zydeco (could argue jazz also), Nola funk and so much tours floating through there

Culture - I mean come on what other state has a unique heritage as the Cajuns.

We like to drink, eat and for the most part can be civil to others (we friendly)

I know a lot of good people around here, that makes it tough to leave.

That being said - I have a very disfunctiinal relationship with this state

Older than most of y'all, in fact older than most, I recall when the entire state was top shelf other than an occasional crooked politician that got way out of line.

I can say the most redeeming quality I find in our state is that I don't know of anywhere else where if a man is in a bind, he can find someone who will help, even rank strangers.

We have a lot to bitch about but my plan is to be planted here when I die. I have no desire to go anywhere else anymore even on vacation.
