Trying to decide if I want to put tracks on the new side by side or not. Are they loud? Do they hinder turning radius? Who has them and love them? How do they perform on a road? If they won’t be in snow that much is it even worth the extra cost?

Only tracks I know of are for mud. I have never used them, but my uncle did and he loved them. They didn’t rut nearly as bad as tires and they turned fine. One issue I didn’t want to have to frick with was the grass getting in them while hunting moist soil. I don’t know if that would have been a hassle or not. My uncle had the farm hands clean his out, so he didn’t really know either. He also never put them on a blacktop road. I don’t know how they perform or last on concrete/asphalt.

I wouldn’t know if they made one just for snow or not.

One of the coolest things I have seen, was at The B.F. Goodrich plant In Tuscaloosa.
They had these prototype rear wheel/tires on the golf carts and buggies that their maintenance guys and security used.
They were a hard rubber tire on a hard rubber rim with flexible spokes.
The rim and tire would squat on the bottom like it was going flat and increase the footprint for traction, almost like having a small track. The maintenance guys loved them.
I don't know if these have ever been made available to the public, I haven't seen anybody with them yet.

Like this? Similar to the ones used on lawn mowers.

Very similar to that.
Are those available now for UTVs and golf carts?
I see that is made by Michelin. Michelin, B.F. Goodrich and Cooper are all related companies.
I see that they are available now. Pretty pricey though.
I guess it's not too bad compared to tracks.

No experience but lots of moving parts. More parts, more problems.

Awesome traction though.

According to some of the tests I've watched on youtube, that's what they are best for.
When the wheel sags, it squeezes mud out of the spokes and slings it out.

Pro- you can drive it through anything and it will go anywhere.

Con- ground speed is reduced significantly. You’re going from a 24” tall tire to about a 12” diameter sprocket and speed is reduced proportionally.

Con- they are terribly unreliable if not maintained. Remember- SxS tracks were originally developed for snow use. They use snowmobile style bogie wheels. The bearings do not like muddy silty water. You MUST keep them clean to get any life out of them. If not, the cost of replacing all the bearings is almost the price of a whole set of tracks.

<- Not making any of this up- I have installed and used about 10 sets of Camso SxS tracks over the last 5 years.

Not all mud is equal.
Never forget that, if you come to the Delta.

Our buckshot/gumbo will break many things and people. I had a buddy in high school that got one of those Argos and thought it would be excellent for duck hunting. Fricker was horrible and the gumbo would jam all of the wheels. If you want a good leg workout come walk in a buckshot field after a light rain. Your feet will weigh 20 pounds each within 75 yards.

Don't be so defensive, I just asked you a simple question.
You are calling me hard headed, but I'm not the one who has his mind made up already that these wheels won't work.
I'm not going to buy any of these wheels, because I don't need anything like that.
If I were in a situation where I might need something like that, I would damn sure check them out for myself.
It could be that they don't live up to claims, but a man could find out before he bought them.
Every modern convenience that we have and use all the time, was a new idea once.

Wonder how they’d do when crossing fallen logs? Would they give enough to hinder climbing the log? Bet the ride would be really good though.

I have no idea, but there's probably a place local to you that sells them. They could probably tell you.
In the videos I watched, they did really well on big rocks. They would flex to the contour of the rocks to grip better.
