re: What is OTs opinion of White's Boots?
Posted by subMOA on 6/14/24 at 1:56 pm
Will report back- just had a pair of White's delivered today.
I wanted Nick's- but didn't want to wait the 36 weeks (how about that) for the Wood Butchers that I wanted.
ETA- the only thing I don't like is that White's isn't truly custom- they are owned by LaCrosse who is now owned by a...

My kids go there all the time- they catch, the Mexicans catch- sometimes the Mexicans give them fish and extra bait.
They claim it’s a helluva good time. ...
It must have been your white privilege?
Perhaps.
I will admit- although I am caucasian- I love Africa- the whole damn continent- from the top to the bottom to the east to the west. It is honestly one of my
favorite places on Earth. Every time I went, it was honestly an adv...

Let me put that spending level in perspective….
For a good bit of my career, I worked in marketing at a director level.
Meaning- business class flights, no one telling me where I could stay, where I could eat, where I could go.
Globally.
And I like nice things- it was nothing to...

We hit the MS opener for shits and giggles Memorial Day weekend- we have places in GI and BSL.
Wind Finder showed MS to be better- so we went.
We got our asses kicked in a 28’ boat, and there were only 2 other boats at FH2. On opening weekend, at a place you can easily take a bay boat to....

Everyone needs companionship.
He’s probably interesting AF.
And, she can obviously do whatever in the hell she wants and is not in her 20s or 30s.
Seems like a good deal to me. ...
re: Think I've found a perfect place to retire! How about you?

I dig a 55 Vicem convertible.
Norhavn has some great ones, and they keep coming out with more and better models.
A Krogen Express is totally my dream, but they are slow AF. ...

We’re gonna do the Great Loop- take 2 years. Provided our skills are sharp and we navigate successfully, we’ll head through the Panama Canal, stay 6 months in Cabo, then up to British Columbia. Take about 5 years total.
If we’re still healthy we’ll either put the boat on a transport or I’ll ...

re: I’ve read a GUILTY verdict will only embolden Trump & his supporters. Do you agree?
Posted by subMOA on 5/30/24 at 5:20 pm
I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR biden.
Until today, I wasn’t sure that Trump was the right guy this time.
My arse. I’m getting a MAGA flag.
If they can do this to him, they can do it to any of us.
I worked in Africa, this is the kinda shite I saw there. ...

It really should be someone’s master’s thesis in sociology.

re: What’s your credit score?
Posted by subMOA on 5/24/24 at 8:52 pm
I used to run the 800s…..then I went into business for myself.
Ouch.
I have no personal debt- but I am the personal guarantor on tens of millions of dollars of LOCs.
Never been late on a payment in my life- business or otherwise, and my credit score now looks like I’m the guy they wou...
re: UPDATE 5/23 - $500 Bounty Offered - John Deere 7210 Tractor Part Needed
Posted by subMOA on 5/23/24 at 7:58 pm
Where are you located? That is fixable. That punched through because the kingpin races were so slap worn out, it finally all gave up and busted through a thin part of the casting that doesn’t carry any load whatsoever.
The seat needs to be welded up, remachined, and then that punched throug...
re: OT Mechanics - Question on Lead Wiring/Harness

Peppermint oil is the only real thing that works.
You think rats are bad on car wires? Go look at the mess on a grain combine.
Deere tried to used a soybean based insulation 25 years ago and it was a rat/mouse magnet.
Spray peppermint oil wherever you don’t want them to eat. ...

Here’s a feel good one…
2001.
Dale Earnhardt had recently died at Daytona.
Kevin Harvick having to take over driving that car- he was young.
Nascar at that time was really popular- people were into it- would talk about it at work. Travel to races.
Jeff Gordon was probably the be...

A girl I work with, her husband was on there.

re: Crew of the Dali (ship that hit Baltimore bridge) still trapped on board the ship

I was hoping someone would show a video like that- I spent a little bit working in the Canal Zone- with that, I was on a ship- working on my cargo, not part of the normal crew- but I did go around the ship a lot. This was a WW- Wallenius Willhelmsen ship- they move Toyota, Cat, Komatsu, and many...

re: Trailer Bearing Replacement near Baton Rouge
Posted by subMOA on 5/9/24 at 9:16 pm
Remember to preload the bearings!
When you do it, run the castle nut down hand tight, then tighten with your socket, kinda snugish- then back off 1/4 turn and install cotter pin.
Make sure hubs turn freely after that. You should feel a little drag. There should be no slack on how the hub ...
