I guess multi-millionaires can afford to piss their money away.

ETA: I have a friend that has five properties in Key West, multi millionaire, her "primary" property is a pretty swanky place on Caroline Street, worth a few mil, she doesn't carry insurance on it, she says if a hurricane knocks it down I'll just build another one

reading the fine print and looking at the pix…there’s a dock permit in place but no dock. So the buyer will have to build a new dock unless coming by seaplane

off the grid isn’t that big a deal. Main thing you have to do without is AC unless you have a generator which requires fuel.

solar otherwise is plenty enough power and you can run everything including refrigerator and freezer no problem. As long as you get rain you’re good to go

I want a house where when I poop, it goes somewhere else.

Also, the place below that one in the article (click the damn link) looks a LOT nicer for not much more.

" two wells, a machine shop, a gun range "

I guarantee you that some Jewish billionaire real estate tycoon from the Northeast will buy the property and mark it up 150% more than its original value

The keys have somewhat moderate temps and their busiest time of year is the winter and spring. This isn’t a place you live year around, so if you stayed there in the fall, winter, and spring it would rarely get over 75* and really be very nice.

There’s an island called Dogg Island south of Tallahassee and east of St George Island that has 100-200 homes with very limited utilities. Last I checked they just had a boat shuttle and access by boat.

In the Pacific Northwest there’s quite a few places like this. But obviously weather is better.

Take yourself down there then during the hot a$$ summer and wonder why your solar panels are not drawing enough power for your air conditioner to work

If you’re working remotely from your starlink computer, the first summer month might be miserable. But your body will get adjusted to the heat. Plus, I bet you can open the windows and get a nice sea breeze to cool you down.
