I’m just over 2.5 weeks into quitting (last cigarette was 17 Apr), and still can’t quit craving a smoke about 50 times a day. Of course some times are worse than others, and it’s now pretty easy ignore, but do the cravings ever fully go away?

When you really want a cigarette put a dick in your mouth. Only took me about 3 weeks to quit that way.

I stopped with the help of nicotine patches. Wore them for several weeks. Eventually forgot about nicotine.

Zyn pouches 24 mg. Two on the upper and two on the lower. But then you are going to have to start smoking again to wean yourself off these things.

Doesn't take long at all for the cravings to subside. But, your mindset needs to always be focused on how the cigs make you stink, make people around you stink and obviously they damage your health.

If you stay pissed off at cigs, in 3 or 4 months or less you will be disgusted by the smell.of cigs.

It was a few months for me. When I did lapse, cigarettes then had a horrible taste.

Eat sunflower seeds, chew a toothpick or pop a nicotine lozenge.

You’re in the crunch time right now…the initial focus to quit waning and now it’s a slog. This is the hardest time. Your mind will play tricks with you. Tell you one won’t hurt…you’ve done this well right? Am I always going to feel like this? Is this how non smokers always feel? Don’t listen.

Stay strong! I’d say you have about 2 more weeks and it becomes less and less. After a month it’s only brief thoughts that pass and after 3 months you don’t think about it anymore.

Do it brother!

A week

Now, how long did I associate my morning/after lunch coffee with smoking? Months. Drinking? Years

I hear about Zyn from my buddies that quit dipping but took this up. It seems they are just as addicted to this as they were Copenhagen. Is this stuff any better for you than real snuff? I quit dipping cold turkey about 5 years ago and only miss it when I’m in a duck blind or golfing. I keep hearing that this is the perfect replacement but those fools have Zyn’s in 24/7.

Used the patch and gum. Took a couple of months before I felt comfortable doing things I associated with smoking: beer, coffee, driving.

Every now and then I'll have a dream where I'm smoking. Quit 20 years ago.

Worse thing to do is the patches and the gum because that'll just keep you addicted.to nicotine Cold turkey is the way to go, and like I said, stay pissed at your addiction.

I quit the cigs and I was a pack a day as well for many years.

You don't want to hear this. I have not touched a cigarette in over 50 years and I can still close my eyes and taste them. Way back then, they were wonderful. probably would be again.

Sorry. That is how I feel lots of the time.
