Yes, we know that RPI is one of the factors that goes into deciding bubble teams. You know that losing to Southern at home hurt LSU’s RPI right? That wasn’t the discussion though. He was using the win against Texas as a reason as to why we might currently be a top 15 team. My point was that singular game doesn’t mean much to how good this team currently may or may not be.

Yea and those guys can only pitch once a weekend and our position players are average to pretty good.

I understand the thought about no one wanting to see us, but again this isn’t like the 2021 or 2022 team that can bash its way through a regional. Of course Tommy is that dude and there’s some other pop but it’s struggled against good pitching. Maybe we get lucky and find a pocket of a regional that we match up against but what I’m saying isn’t some bizarre hot take

You are still missing his point. He’s not really talking about our team offensively.

Semantics my guy. Btw, Im the one that brought up Texas. Let’s hope we get a 3 seed and can Fk up someone else’s regional. Cheers!

Okay fine but you still have to play offense to win a regional and have people intimidated by you. Good Lord

No #1 seed is going to be scared of LSU. The point is that LSU is a bad draw when compared to other 3 seeds

Coming into this weekend i had it rated
1 Texas Am
2 Tennessee
3 Georgia
4 North Carolina
5 Duke
6 Wake Forest
7 Florida st
8 Kentucky
9 Lsu
10 south carolina

So, yeah, i think they are a top 15 team

Also, warren nolans elo has them 14th, just another metric agreeing with jay

The way the pitching has turned it around, maybe. Lead off walks were a huge problem prior, leading to runs and our offense trying to press too much. That with a brutal schedule while trying to develop younger guys.

Top 20

Cincinnati, Utah, Xavier, Coastal Carolina, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, LA Tech, TCU, UNC-Wilmington, UNC-Greensboro, College of Carlton, Illinois, UCF, Northeastern, Vanderbilt, Troy.

Those are some of the possible 3 seeds according to the most recent D1 projection. If you’re a #1 seed, how many of those teams would you rather have in your bracket over LSU?

Any time you have a team like LSU getting a 3 seed, a #1 seed isn’t going to want them in their bracket strictly from a talent standpoint. It’s the same for a team like Florida this year.

My baw, you're the one who brought up a win over Texas in February... that holds just about as much weight now as a midweek loss to Southern

Saying a Friday night win in a big time atmosphere is the same as a mid week game that one team was likely sleep walking through is comical.

...and here we are rationalizing a loss to Southern again

When it comes to RPI, they both matter. When it comes to how good LSU currently is, they both mean very little.

No one is rationalizing anything jackass. But to equate a midweek game in the middle of conference play with a Friday night non-conference game in a big time electric setting is moronic. This isn’t difficult. Well for most people.
