ELO rankings say LSU is a top 15 team in the country. Ahead of every team we’re deadlocked in the SEC with too.

This. If Lil Nicky can go on Gameday and lobby his team into the BCS/Playoff based on ratings and eyeballs for E$PN, (and ticket sales for some shitty NC$$ Regional) then we can too! I guarantee more people will watch us than Tech. And finishing tied for seventh in a conference with five teams in the Top 6 of the RPI isn’t so bad.

No they aren’t. This isn’t the 2022 team that could mash and couldn’t pitch. This team doesn’t really do either.
You don't think this team can get hot and mash the ball? You don't think Jared Jones, Tommy White, Josh Pearson, Hayden Travenski, Steven Milam and Ashton Larson can get hot?

You don't think Hollman and Gage give us a huge advantage in a 3 game series?

Being honest you kind of sound like one of those soft fellas that's folds when adversity shows up

Nah, pitching depth keeps us from being that.

I have a friend who always says LSU is overrated in football. My argument to him is always, maybe we don’t look like the #10 team, but can you name 10 who do, and use the same criteria?

I think this team is one of the top 15 or 20. The pitching is really coming around. There was some Fool’s Gold this weekend with Ole Miss being such a crappy hitting (and pitching) team, but LSU’s pitching has been blossoming for a month. First it was Gage Jump joining Holman as a stud starter; then Little became a reliable reliever, joining Herring and Ackerman.

The other thing that has come around is LSU’s “clutch”. We were a much better team than our 3-12 SEC record indicated. We just gave away a couple of games, and there were about seven more there for the taking of which we only took about two. This team should have about four more SEC wins, but even three would make us 16-14 SEC and 39-17 overall. That would easily be a top 10 team.

Now, it didn’t happen, and we are 13-17 SEC, and teams have to face the consequences of those failures. But over the last five weeks, including an impressive win over the #1 team in the country, LSU has emerged.

Yes, I would say not only is it debatable, it's a stretch.

Might be top 15.

LSU baseball fans made an absolute arse of themselves this year. Used to think it was an educated fanbase on the sport, but holy shite, its just a bunch of emotional dweebs.

Just grateful for the few sane fans we have left.

I'll give you this.....maybe top 15, Top 10 or 15 not even debatable, sorry Jaques.

Does it mean we cannot play to that standard it the post-season, no it does not. We saw what Ole Miss did just a few years back.

Considering we are the 11th seed in the SEC, that’s a bold statement

Well, considering the # of top 20 teams in the SEC and the number that are slated to be top 8 host sites, that 11th seed isn’t as bad as some.

The question is how many teams who’ll get into the tournament, such as ULL, would have a better record than LSU if they’d faced our schedule?

I’m willing to bet every top team has lost one outlier game this season.

What I do know is there is no clear cut number 1 team. It's as a wide open as I can remember. So just get in and make a run.

It's borderline. I'd tend to say we're in, but we need to win Tuesday to feel safe.

Not only would that be another quad 1 win for us, but it would also guarantee us two more quad 1 games which will bump the resume regardless of results.

I haven't found that the committee consistently just rewards RPI, if you don't win games. I'm not sure if losing two straight games and going 1-2 in the tournament will mean much to the committee. It might, but RPI is hardly a reliable metric above winning and losing. So I'm not sure if 1-2 would hurt any less than 0-1. We may be in, regardless... who knows. But I'd feel real good about 2 wins being the clincher.

the thing is, we have two very good starters....and a couple good arms in the pen. If hurd or someone else steps up, that's all it takes. Look no farther than last year. Think about it this way, what if Hurd, or someone else, steps up massively in the post season....do you not think LSU could get to or even win a Super with that? Bats are heating up and they are 10-5 over last 15 conference games.

probably one of the dumber comments I've seen on here, even more so than 1988. When teams are throwing midweek arms I guarantee that most teams eventually lose to a much less talented team. Didn't LSU lose a couple horrible mid week games last year? How did that season play out?
