Reading this thread is really incredible that this widespread damage was caused by a line of severe storms. Anybody that didn’t know would swear they are reading discussions after a Cat 3 passed through.

A legit Derecho is no joke, they can be more damaging (area impacted) and just as costly as many tornado outbreaks.

Here's a rabbit hole to go down. It is a playlist of videos from the August 10/11 Midwest derecho. It caused more than $11 billion in property, infrastructure, and crop damage.

I’m at 11th/Studewood.
No power as of an hour ago.

Luckily my boss is in Spring, and is letting my family (pregnant wife and 1 yo) stay with him.

Call this number 1 (888) 572-4399

Will take about 10 min but will give you update on status.

Told me exactly what the issue was, that a crew was on site, but didn’t have specific eta on mine. But she said should be up in next few hours.

Went through Hurricane Laura in 2020, near Entergy's high tension towers that all crumpled down. Almost 200 of them were flat, but remarkably were rebuilt in about 3 weeks. Had power back at the house within 5 weeks, much faster than Rita in 2005, with less damage, when we didn't have power for 9 weeks. Hang in there and best to all affected by these storms.

Couples crews working on rosslyn at the tracks and inspectors working ahead to issues. Might be getting close for me. I’m still crashing in a hotel tonight regardless.

For one it was branch on line, whatever crew was needed was on site… no damage, but no ETA.

Other was a pole at Shepherd leading into rice military. She called out the notes and what parts were needed and that it has been dispatched to. Other crew to resolve, but no ETA.

ETA: centerpoint is fricking terrible. The original girl I spoke with signed me up for text alerts. Hadn’t heard anything so called back and new girl said no updates, but decided to swing back by house and power was on. Still no text to say it’s back on

I’m not trying to be a smart arse but the cool last night was down to 66. So yeah, I guess your house did ok for having no power but the 2 days is irrelevant.

My disposal wasn’t working when I got home about 30min after getting notice the power was back. It was burning hot. I’m guessing was on when it came back on and burned up.
