Paying 100s a month in streaming services, but I just found Live TVs Channel IP-216 (80s Rewind - from built in free tv service on LG smart TVs). It's great.

Last weekend had Real Genius,; Top Secret; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Clue; and stand by me.

Today, Platoon; Mighty Quinn; OVER THE TOP; AMERICAN NINJA (one of my most rented childhood action movies ); bloodsport; THE RUNNING MAN; MIRACLE MILE; and STAND BY ME (again)

I'm about to see some sad faces at home when I cut all the streaming sources for the free television service with better lineups.

If you’re wondering, yes it’s still awesome.

Absolutely.

I'd also forgotten all about Mighty Quinn. Great early Denzel action movie with a corruption and friendship thread throughout.

It's the built in free TV service on LG smart TVs. Their channels are all IP-###

No, I think it's just the LG lineup. It's built in to their hardware

Sounding like my late dad here but I'm constantly amazed at the amount of free programming out there. A one time purchase of a smart TV or a Roku device and you have more good, free television than you could possibly watch in a lifetime.

If I wasn't married with kids I'd rip up every streaming contract and just watch free television for the rest of my days.

Another good source of free entertainment is your local public library. Now that streaming dominates a lot of people have donated huge collections of DVDs to the library, not just movies but shows, anthologies, etc. It's weird that people now have an aversion to sticking a physical disk into a machine.

Lol. I'm in the military. Everytime we move we get small little looks over the amount of DVDs we still cling on to

There really is, which amazes me more that my cheap arse still pays for the other services. It's completely contradictory to my typical nature.

Through the library you can also get a free Kanopy membership, which allows you to stream great films from their phone/TV apps.

So I just checked out this 80s channel in the OP. Definitely found it. And there’s a 90s one too. Wayne’s World comes on in a little bit.

Has no idea this existed. Pretty cool.

Pluto TV is very under rated. Watch it all the time and there is always something on worth watching.
My 82 y/o mother in law lives with us so we have dish in living room and her room for her. It’s what she always had and is comfortable with. She would never figure out streaming services. There is never anything good on. I’ll go to my room and turn on Pluto and always find something good.

Great thread guys, Pluto is solid. I will add that Samsung has something similar for free with their TVs, huge catalog of movies/tv shows. And to the poster that mentioned public libraries, I was in one last week and was shocked at the number of DVDs in the their collection.

Mighty Quinn

Rewatch this movie once a year - it’s got a bit of everything in terms of plot and characters. It’s just an easy fun watch.
