We sound similar in size although I didn’t measure shoulders.

5’11”. 224lbs. 51 yo
Waist: 34”
Shoulders: ?
Chest: 46”
Arm: 18.5”
Quad (for shites and giggles): 25”

I don’t really go up super heavy on db shoulder presses. I usually get to the 80’s and call it a day. Probably could do 100’s maybe 4-5 times.

I don’t do weighted chins either but can typically hit 15-18 strict unweighted. Use to be able to hit 20 easily but that was in another life.

5-10, ~195lb. 45 inch chest, 36 inch waist. 16.5 inch biceps but they don't look that impressive because they don't have much of a peak. If I got my waist down to 31-32, my chest would shrink to 41-42. I've done it before.

ETA quads are 26R, 25L. I blew out the left one several years ago and it's lagged behind ever since.

That’s because you’re obese. With that much lard covering your muscle, you aren’t going to see anything.

Aren't you glad this isn't a IRL discussion? Would not want to be present with all the body part comparisons.

Those are all very interesting. I've always used my own ideas for my goals and standards, but it's good to look into other's way of seeing the same things. My current strength goals are:
SQUAT!: 3XBW for a single
Deadlift: 3.35XBW for a single(conventional, sumo, trap bar, whatever, I don't care as long as it gets lifted. I'm a sucky deadlifter)
Bench Press: 2XBW for a single
Press: 1.5XBW for a single

Based off my current 1RMs this puts me at:
SQUAT!: 2XBW(260lbs)=520lbs
Deadlift: 1.63XBW(260)=425lbs
Bench Press: 1.44XBW(260)=375lbs
Press: 1XBW(260)=260lbs

Seems like I've got an impossibly long way to go on all of these goals, but I have no intention of remaining at 260lbs. After losing the excess fat weight I should be in the 205-215 range, and at those weights I can likely achieve all of those strength goals.

I base this belief off of what I've done in the past. Most of my best 1RM came when I was 20 and weighed 194lbs.
I had a >3XBW SQUAT! with a true 1RM of 610. I had a 2XBW bench press with a 1RM of 390. Best conventional deadlift was 530lbs @ 250(ish)lbs bodyweight, about 6 years ago. Best press was 285lbs x 4 reps at again, 250ish pounds, around the same time. That's barely a 2XBW deadlift and 1.2XBW press.

I've got a lot of fat to lose, a lot of muscle to maintain, but it's fun to pursue these goals, that's the whole deal to me, the pursuit of goals. These days my focus seems to be less on the training side and it's all about recipes, meal planning, the kitchen, ingredients, etc. That's what my focus needs to be to pursue my goals.

I don't do physique standards at all, if you saw me, you'd understand. I just don't care. A person can't outrun their genetics and putting someone else's physique standards on myself would just be a masochistic exercise...and that's not my thang.

So with the discussion on the OT about waist size, I wanted to bump this thread

also please understand....that jean sizes have changed over the years for men. They have done to us, what they did to women.....slowly upped the size so that a 32 in the waist in a pair of jeans, no longer means 32"

take your measurements at the naval so that you can be consistent with the measurement.
