You’re right. Its not complicated at all.
Jay will pitch whoever he thinks gives us the best chance to win game 1 and it will be either Jump or Holman. Pretty simple ...

I never said I wanted anyone other than our best 2. Just that they are pretty even so starting Holman Friday would not be “pitching off.” It just depends on who Jay likes more against their particular lineup. He’s not throwing someone other than them and he shouldn’t. ...

The much more important point is Skenes was obviously the ace while Jump and Holman are 1A-1B and Jay will probably be more willing to play matchups. Skenes was no doubt your best chance to win game 1. You can make an argument for either Jump or Holman and you can’t really go wrong either way
