Newgarden probably has a better shot to successfully do the double than Larson.
Outside of Larson , Newgarden is in a different universe of talent compared to Bubbw Wallace , or Noah Gragson or Denny Hamlin or the rest of the cab drivers lmao...

Max is kind of like Larson where he is more passionate about a different racing series that doesnt pay the bills. I suspect he will get a nice set up in WEC in a few years once get bored of F1

agreed on Pocono- I went in 2013 and it was a pretty big crowd
I think the Wickens accident and the hap hazard track repairs to the catch fence in the wake of the accident drew the ire of alot of thr drivers

issue with Road Atlanta is that super fast blind turn without adequate run off
i think a street course around Mercedes Benz Stadium, Centinnel olympic park and state farm arena would be dope however...

Good David Land video surmising where the other 80% of fans go after they watch the Indy 500 .
Avg Indycar race gets around 800k-1.5M viewers (similar to f1) but the 500 gets around 4.8-5.5M viewers over the past few years.

100%- I think Max in a Penske wins the championship.
He , Palou, Leclerc, Alonso Lando, Piastri, Larson and Newgarden are the best in the world
I think Lewis would maybe get a win or two- I think he has been a beneficiary of elite cars/teams for his entire career. He also is scared of running...

the engine parameters in F1 are regulated as well
There is a ton of engine development and an arms race in Indycar as evidenced by the numerous blown engines and plenum fires both chevy and honda experienced this past month...

Indy NXT is spec

welcome home. watching indycar , f1 and nascar with my dad is what cultivated my love for the sport.
Indycar is alot better now than where it was 20 years ago but still has a ways to go to get back to the peak in 1993-1995 where it was arguably the most popular racing series on the planet

because the mandated chassis that came out in 2018- the IR-18 significantly reduced downforce compared to the cars of the previous era .

indycars arent spec and those COTA track times are from when they were running a low downforce spec
If they ran the manufacturers aerokits (honda and chevy) at COTA the top Indycar times would be comparable to the rear of the F1 field

however Pocono has a bit of a stigma from 2015 and 2018 and I’m not sure the facility is safe enough- aeroscreen may alleviate that though

how does having more races correlate to converting nascar fans?
dont get me wrong i’d love to see 22-25 races but Indycar has always been 17-19 races throughout its history...
