Is there any reason I can’t spray eraser/round up late evening or early night before 10pm?

Can’t see where you’re going as well?

Get it on the plant in a high enough concentration and it’ll work.

What a weird question. Why wouldn’t you be able to spray roundup before 10pm?

You can. Would be best to do it in time to dry on the leaf for an hour or so before the dew falls.

Dew would maybe be an issue.

The weeds and grass really need to be awake before you spray.

What are you trying to kill?

Should be fine. Dew can help you out as long as it isn’t too heavy.

Dew isn’t going to be an issue as long as you apply the way you should be, which is oz of herbicide per acre, not oz per gallon of water in the sprayer. Glyphosate is water soluble, if anything a decent dew will make sure the plant is wetted already and give better coverage, which you usually count on a surfactant to do. Using a non-ionic surfactant will help no matter what, adding AMS will help even more, but neither are really make or break. In my experience glyphosate kills what it’s gonna kill, treat rate and adjuvants are just gonna make it work faster.

If you are intending to freeze the solution in ice cube trays and shoot it onto your neighbor's lawn with a slingshot, then it works best after dark.

lol, just trying to spray my plots and I never get to camp till 6/7pm. I’d rather spray the evening/night when I get up there then burning 3-4 hours the following morning spraying them.

Probably best in the morning since the weeds need to absorb it through their leaves, dry with sunshine is best.

Based on my many years of farming, some of the best weed kills that I ever got were from spraying just as the dew was coming on. One time I was spraying corn and it started to mist very lightly and I got a teriffic control job. The plants open their pores to absorb dew and they more readily absorb the chemical as well. Hot and dry = not so much success.

It is like Drunken tiger said. It adds water to the chemical and helps transmitting it to the plant. Basically, how spraying too low of a GPA won’t give you the best results. When there is dew it is like spraying at a higher gpa and better surface coverage.

The only time it is an issue is if it is excessive and the chemical runs off the plant and plus any animal that walks through it will basically wipe the chemical off. Just how you can see a trail in heavy dew from where you or an animal walked. Your tire tracks could also not allow full coverage.

You might add some blue dye to see what was prayed (and what was missed) come light of day.

If you’re worried about dew, mix a little bit of dish soap in your mix, it’ll coat the plant and help it stick
