Has anyone been out fishing at Breton Island recently and noticed if they had cell service, specifically verizon? Obviously the coverage map from verizon does not specifically show Breton Island, but it's only 15 miles from Boothville as a crow flies so I am hopeful. I know I have been surprised at times fishing further south but never at Breton Island. Any feedback is appreciated.

I haven’t fished it this year but have never had service there. Typically loose it a few miles out of Baptiste.

once you get within a few miles of the coast, you lose almost all service other than at&t

once you get a few miles away from the coast, at&t service turns to shite

i have a pay as you go at&t go phone just for fishing, for everything else i go with verison or t-mobile.

its the best way to go and you dont need to worry about something happening to your good phone

i just fish the marsh or less than 5 miles offshore, farther offshore you go you start to completely lose all cell signal

Was out there summer before last and had no signal at all. Was able to text about 4 miles after coming out of Baptiste Collette . AT&T. is my carrier.

You will be on your own without a satellite phone.

How did we exist before cell phones?

People just went fishing.

my BIL pisses me off with this, 4-5 hours fishing he gets no less than a dozen phone calls, half of which are my sister asking how its going.

one time i took the phone and told her we could do better ifthe phone stopped ringing every 10 minutes

Just to follow up, if any of you have verizon, I was able to place phone calls, send text messages, and receive emails with one or two service bars. It would have been a whole lot more fun to have been a fishing trip than a work expedition.

Aggravates the shite out of me as well. I go fishing to escape the daily bullshite, not bring it with me.
