I was wondering if anyone had any bream fishing reports to share? I've been fishing the Lake Verrett area and catching many catfish but can't seem to find any bream to speak of. Has anyone any bream reports to share within an hour drive of BR. Thanks.

Damn, I was going to try Verrett next Friday. Guess I'll go chase pigs instead.

What are you catching the cats on? In the lake itself or canals?

Caught some big ones bass fishing 3 weeks ago in the spillway
If I tried to catch them I probably wouldn’t. Might be a few weeks early

Tickfaw River was on fire for the last 3 weeks. Haven’t been since the water came up last weekend.

I’ve been catching them in the lake on night crawlers.

that looks like a fun time.

my dock will not hold bream.

holds Kentucky Spotted Bass and Catfish just fine. but not bream for the kids.

I wish it was different.

Used to slay bream on Lake Norman with a fly rod, now they seem wiser to the game and much smaller.

I used to live on the Tickfaw. Every year when the caterpillars would start falling out of the trees was the absolute best time to go. You could fill up an ice chest in a short time. I think it was usually mid-late April to mid May.
Other than that, I would suggest crickets in from 1- 4 ft of water, around trees and knees.

Tearing hybrids up on my pond.10-13 inch long bream and 1-2 inches wide. Big fat boys being fed floating food. Also get feed on fat head minnows , shiners, and bream fingerlings. Catch 2 or 3 and scale em, gut em, and grill em soon after while drinking tasty lager. Best meal in the world, next to gumbo ofcourse.

Hopefully we will torch some on the calcasieu Memorial day weekend. Outboard melted a piston so we'll be fishing the trees near the house until it is fixed.

Went to Verret this morning. Caught 5 or 6 decent bulls, a couple smaller females, and 3 or 4 bass with my flyrod. Didn't catch multiple fish in a single spot.

Coming off a new moon, they will all be scattered. Coming in and out of full moon is when they'll be concentrated on spawning flats.
