Did you know: Texas outside the triangle is majority Hispanic and Trump won by 27%! Lol

Did you know most Hispanics especially Tejanos are super conservative? Lots of ties to the O&G industry and culturally they align with conservative anglos (Texians)

That’s what I’m getting at. If these opportunities would move to places like El Paso that’s all it takes. It starts with the Texas government supporting it.

There’s no real reason why EP couldn’t turn into a new mega region much like the triangle. Hell the RGV might have a better chance due to their proximity to the gulf. Ports for economic reasons. Beaches for recreation reasons.

All it takes is some super rich dude to decide “I’m gonna make El Paso a thing” and millions will drink the kool aid

Everything within a 100 miles of the border is a shite show, nobody wants to deal with that fiasco.

Not all Hispanic people are “not white”.
The term for non Hispanic white people in Texas is “Anglo”.

Culturally they are conservative. Statistically they still vote D. I think this is because a lot don’t vote though.

That’s what I’m saying. Like why not just go to El Paso and turn it into a legit city like the others? It seems to be the forgotten Texas city. It’s got natural beauty. Just needs some money pumped in there.

And you can fall in love with a Mexican girl.

People are moving to Texas for jobs and the jobs are in the metro areas.

Doesn’t seem to bother people in Arizona. Phoenix is a major metro.

Exactly the point. If you want to live in desert... There's already established cities. Vegas, Scottsdale, Tucson and Phoenix.

El paso is physically and literally a desert. I mean for those who like that then good..but most people aren't clamoring to go there for that reason alone.

If I was a single guy who didn’t need to work in the triangle then I could be happy in a remote area of Texas. But I’m not, and neither are most people. But the older I get the more I want to be away from the traffic and crowds.

the years I lived in Brownsville I told people I was Irish not Anglo. Just like Mexicans aren’t Hondurans

They got the message, but you can continue to be wrong

Texas should annex Louisiana and develop Baton Rouge and Lafayette into better, bigger versions of themselves with real jobs, better education, and solid infrastructure. Texas would know how to properly use the Mississippi

Could we have the Baton Rouge/Lafayette/Bunkie triangle?

Probably because the jobs are in the triangle. People aren’t moving to Texas for the weather or scenery.

To be honest, I hope more NYers and Californians move to Texas, because that’s less people moving to states that are actually nice to live in like Florida and Montana.

No one moves to Texas for reasons other than work. The ones that move because it’s a “trendy” state to live in are the retards who follow the bullshite hype pages on social media praising Texas as the greatest state to ever exist.

If I were a retiree, I’d look towards Palm Beach or Boca Raton before any place in Texas. At least those places have an amenity that justifies their cost of living unlike Texas.

It appears that they want live in or near cities. I would look for a much more rural area.

The Texas economic miracle is mostly located in those cities cited in the OP. Go to the panhandle or the piney woods and you'll see dying small towns just like in Louisiana.

The hill country and eastern third is way better than most of the rest of Texas as far as rural living.

If you saw Hell or High Water, it’s a pretty good synopsis of a lot of rural Texas.
